"Tuning" doesn't mean dyeing

This is how dark hair keeps dark for longer

Alpecin Tuning Shampoo is not a hair dye. Dyeing hair involves a chemical process that breaks up the structure of hair to deposit dye. But tuning is a purely physical process. Every time men use the black shampoo, dark pigment attaches to the surface of the hair. It covers up lighter patches and thus hides the first signs of grey.

Keep dark hair dark for longer

First of all, Alpecin Tuning Shampoo does not help if you have white or very grey hair. We keep receiving enquiries about whether the effect of the product is comparable with a hair dye. This is not the case. Our product helps you to keep your dark hair dark for longer. In this respect, it is also only suitable for use with dark hair.

Black shampoo?

Alpecin Tuning Shampoo contains particularly intensive pigments that attach to the hair every time you use the shampoo. This means that hair low in pigment or pigmentless hair is "tainted" with pigments. This effect is reinforced every time you wash your hair so that the Colour Effect gradually appears without it being noticed. With hair dye or coloration, the hair immediately adopts the full colour – we deliberately avoided this noticeable effect when developing our shampoo.

How often do I need to "tune"?

The Colour Effect gradually intensifies with each application. Alpecin Tuning Shampoo is applied like a normal shampoo. However, you should leave it in for 2-5 minutes. In addition to the dark pigments, the "Black Shampoo" also has a high-dose caffeine complex that prevents hereditary hair loss.
